Small Flock: Southern Region Resources on Pastured Poultry
There is a growing interest among small producers to raise free-range and organic poultry to satisfy market demand, boost on-farm profits and increase ag sustainability. There is a need, however, to provide access to livestock processing facilities, specifically those designed to handle small flocks of birds. Infrastructure and business planning tools, in particular, are lacking. These resources are intended to provide farmers with information on processing and marketing poultry on a small scale.
